ARNOLD, Dorothy

"Morning Music"

Dorothy Arnold

Dorothy Arnold has lived in Orange for over 35 years and has a background in nursing. This has lead her to be involved with the palliative care service and the Regional Cancer Council.

Dorothy is also a “Distinguished Toast Master” – one of only two within the Central and Far West regions.
Dorothy has been a member of OCB for almost ten years and is currently President; she has been Vice President and Secretary as well as a member of the Committee of Management for over six years. Dorothy has been actively involved in and responsible for all the fund raising events at the station; eg, Mr Orange, Star Search, raffles, barbecues, garage sales, concerts, etc.

Dorothy broadcasts a regular program on Thursdays between 9.00 am and 11.00 am; the program is “Morning Music” filled with easy-listening music, current affairs, news and interviews with local personalities.
Dorothy, as well as being President of Orange Community Broadcasters, is also a member of the Fund Raising, Sponsorship and Programming Subcommittees.

 


BASHARA, Tolie

“Spectrum”

Tolie Bashara

Tolie Bashara broadcasts “Spectrum” each Monday night between 6.00 pm and 7.00 pm after working all day in his business “Central West Trophies and Embroidery” in the Anson Street Plaza.

Tolie joined FM107.5 in November 2008 and includes a broad selection of music in his weekly program with music mainly from the 60s, 70s and 80s. You’re sure to hear your favourite artists and tracks during Tolie’s “Spectrum”.

Tolie doesn’t have too much spare time as he runs his own business and broadcasts at FM107.5. However, he is a dedicated family man and enjoys nothing more than being with his wife, daughter and son and his two very special grandchildren, Caleb and Logan. Tolie looks forward to weekends to “chill out”!

 


BLACK, Jim

“Big Country Lunch” - Monday

Jim Black

Jim has been a member of FM107.5 since 2001 and is well known to listeners as the “Barn Owl” broadcasting great country tracks in his “Big Country Lunch” program on Mondays. You’ll hear all your favourites in the country genre as well as Jim’s favourites like George Jones, Dwight Yoacam, Lorrie Morgan and Randy Travis.

Jim looks forward to some golf in his spare time as well as walking his young dog, Lucky; and he does some meditation as well. As an ex-muso, Jim loves listening to all types of music.

 


CHISWELL, Remy and HUELMO, Eddie

The Filipino Progam

Eddie and Remy have been broadcasting “The Filipino Program” every week since 2003 and currently broadcast their program on Tuesday night between 6.00 pm and 7.00 pm.

The program is in both English and Filipino to target the Filipino community in our listening area to ensure that local services and events are publicised to the Filipino people through FM107.5.

“The Filipino Program” is filled with community announcements  including information about local activities, events and services. You’ll hear lots of Filipino music as well and you get to enjoy Filipino artists – this music will appeal to all our listeners especially our Filipino listeners who can’t wait for Tuesday night’s program.

 


CONROY, Tony

“My choice ”

Tony joined FM107.5 in September 2009 with his program “My Choice”.
Tony has a background in PMG to Telstra but is now retired and enjoys spending time on his small property and particularly spending time with his favourite grandson, Gil. Tony travels from Bathurst each week to broadcast “My Choice” for all his listeners in the Central West.

Tune in at 6.00 pm on Fridays where you’ll hear great music from Pavarotti to Lotti and everything in between. Some of Tony’s favourites are Moody Blues, Neil Diamond and Cat Stevens.

 


FINCH, Scott and RAMSAY, Trent

“Mega Offbeat Munch”

Scott Finch and Trent Ramsay

Scott Finch started broadcasting “Mega Mad Music Munch” in September 2008. Trent and Scott joined forces mid 2009 collaborating with the “Offbeat” program in which Trent was previously involved.
Scott plays the bass guitar and any instrument he can get his hands on. He also enjoys listening to all sorts of music. Scott loves the Swedish culture and can’t say “No” to any dessert.
Trent is a keen sports’ fan - he plays rugby and is a retired member of the rowing team at Kinross.  In his spare time, Trent goes sailing at Pittwater when he is home on school holidays. Trent is a party animal and particularly loves music festivals.
 Make sure you tune in each Friday between 5.00 pm and 6.00 pm to hear a wide variety of the best unique music you won’t hear anywhere else. Some of Trent and Scott’s favourite artists include The Wombats, The Kooks, The Camels, Cicero’s A Goer, The Beautiful Girls and Sigur Ros.

FISHER, Michael

"Start Me Up"

Michael Fisher

Michael Fisher started broadcasting with FM107.5 during March 2009 to “fill in” for Kevin while Kevin was on holidays.

Michael now broadcasts his own program on Mondays between 9.00 am and 11.00 am. Michael has an eclectic taste in music and he likes everything from rock to blues and soul. His favourite bands while he was growing up were Led Zeppelin and Jethro Tull and now Foo Fighters and Coldplay.
Michael was born in Orange and grew up here; he returned to live four years ago after stints in Blayney, Sydney and Brisbane. Michael is a solicitor and has worked in private, corporate and government legal practices.

Michael is a keen golfer and loves gardening and relaxing with a good book.

 


FITZGERALD, Steve

“Rock on Air”

Michael Fisher

Steve started broadcasting “Rock on Air” in November 2009 and includes some of his favourite artists like Neil Young, Crosby Stills & Nash, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and most 60’s artists.

Steve works as a taxi driver in Orange and has done for about four years. In his spare time, he enjoys his music, reading, watching sports on TV, home brewing, gardening, playing golf and competition table tennis. He also loves spending time with his family and friends especially around the BBQ.

Tune in to Steve’s program each Thursday afternoon between 5.00 pm and 6.00 pm and you’ll be singing along with all your favourites and hear some new tracks, new albums, and new artists.

 


FORD, Brian

“Big Country Lunch - Monday”

Brian was born in Orange and has lived here for about 18 years after spending about 30 years in Sydney. Brian has been part of FM107.5 for approximately 12 years.

Brian’s love of country music is the reason that he has been broadcasting “A Big Country Lunch” on Wednesdays between 12 noon and 1.30 pm. Brian has lots of favourite artists including Australian and American country singers such as Alan Jackson, George Jones, Tammy Wynette and Keith Urban.

Brian loves a game of squash and is a fan of Parramatta NRL football.

 


GROCOTT, Jim

“A Big Country Lunch” - Thursday;
“Jim’s Jazz Collection”

Abdul

Jim Grocott has been a member of FM107.5 for approximately three years and has a background in the telecommunications industry.

Jim broadcasts “A Big Country Lunch” on Thursdays between 12.00 noon and 3.00 pm which features a wide variety of old and new country tracks and country artists – focusing on Australian artists and Christian country. Jim is also the presenter for “Jim’s Jazz Collection” between 7.00 pm and 10.00 pm on Tuesday evenings. Again, Jim promotes many Australian artists with a mixture of great jazz and blues music.

Jim is also a member of the Technical Subcommittee and the Programming Subcommittee. In Jim’s “spare time”, he grows bonsai trees and plays with model cars.

 


KITTLER, Ilse

“The German Program”

Abdul

Ilse Kittler has broadcast “The German Program” between 4.00 pm and 5.00 pm on Saturdays since 2005 – it is another one of our popular ethnic programs with listeners from all over our listening area and beyond.

Ilse uses the weekly German newspaper “Die Woche” (“The Weekly”) to ensure that she passes on the latest news items from Germany. In her program, Ilsa features German stories and poems interspersed with German folk songs, pop songs and waltzes.

Ilse’s program has a broad listening base – with fans in Orange and surrounding districts of Forbes, Parkes, Cowra, Wellington and Bathurst. Fans from as far away as Sydney, America and Germany receive a copy of Ilse’s program because they say they love maintaining that “special tie” to their homeland.

 


LANGDON, Geoff

“A Big Country Lunch ”

Geoff joined FM107.5 in mid 2008 as a presenter just “to do a favour for” someone who was going to be away for a while! And here it is, much later – and Geoff is still a part of FM107.5. Geoff now has his own show and broadcasts “A Big Country Lunch” on Fridays between 12 noon and 3.00 pm.

Geoff has some Australian favourites with Slim Dusty being “right up there” as Number 1 - as well as Troy Cassar-Daley, Melinda Schneider and Tanya Kernaghan. You’ll also hear overseas country greats like Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, Trish Yearwood, Randy Travis and Allan Jackson. Geoff’s favourite music is country and he loves country gospel as well.

Geoff is a Baptist Pastor, a Chaplain with the Rural Fire Service, an ex-farmer and a family man and he and his wife enjoy their three children and love spending time with their seven grandchildren.

 


LAYTON, Fay

“Rotary in Action”

Fay Layton

Fay joined FM107.5 in September 2009 and is the face of “Rotary in Action” from the Rotary Club of Orange Calare.

Fay has been with Rotary since 2005 and has held the positions of Secretary and President Elect and will be President in 2010-2011.  Fay and members of Calare Rotary are very busy organising the next “Batlow to Bathurst Cycle Tour 2010” so contact Calare Rotary if you’d like to be part of this great fundraiser for Australian Mental Health.

“Rotary in Action” will inform you about what Rotary do in Orange as well as raise the profile of Rotary Australia wide. Fay will balance the Rotary information with a broad range of music from rock and roll to country to folk and modern hits.

 


LOGAN, Bella and HARVEY, Lauren

"Canobolas Rural Technology High School Hour"

Lauren Harvey and Bella Logan are Year 11 students at Canobolas Rural Technology High School and they broadcast “Nobbie’s Nuts” on Fridays between 4.00 pm and 5.00 pm. During the program you will hear school news and special interest segments interspersed with an eclectic range of music.

Lauren is involved in extra-curricula activities including music, drama, public speaking and debating; while Bella is in the Debating Team and studies Nursing on top of her school studies.
Canobolas Rural Technology High School has over 700 enrolments and students are involved in the community participating in sports, music and interschool functions.

The “Nobbie’s Nuts” double is proud of their school and they enjoy sharing their experiences and the spirit of Canobolas Rural Technology High School with the wider community.


McMILLAN, Gordon

“Morning Music ”

Gordon has presented his “Morning Music” program for many years and his loyal listeners never miss his programs between 9.00 am and 12 noon every Wednesday and Friday.

Gordon’s program provides you with wonderful music selections from 50s and 60s hits as well as folk, country and easy-listening tracks.
Gordon joined FM107.5 after his retirement from the ABC and he is always willing to train new FM107.5 presenters and share his skills, knowledge and experience.
Gordon participates in fund-raising activities, Open Days and other activities at FM107.5.

In his spare time, Gordon enjoys being part of the Orange Film Society and also looks forward to his weekly 9-holes of golf.

 


MASON, Kevin

Kevin Mason

Kevin Mason’s involvement with community radio dates back to 1986 when he began producing music and interviews at Radio Northern Beaches in Sydney and continued after moving to Orange at the end of 2002.

Kevin has been a member of 2OCB since early in 2003 and later that year was elected to the Committee of Management acting as Treasurer for two years and then as President for two terms. Kevin is into his second term as Vice President.
Kevin has broadcast a range of programs during his time with FM107.5 including “Kevin’s Long Morning Tea”. In 2009, Kevin offered to be the station’s “fill-in” broadcaster when daytime presenters are away. He has filled in for “A Big Country Lunch” and “Start Me Up”.

Kevin’s philosophy of community radio is that it is a dynamic entity in community life particularly in country areas where it has the ability to entertain, inform, educate and train people in all aspects of radio communication on a local basis.

 


MAXWELL, Marilyn

“Men and their Music”

Marilyn Maxwell

Marilyn’s background is in education as a Special Education Teacher. She has formal qualifications of Bachelor of Education, Master of Arts (Theatre Studies), and, Masters of Special Education.

Marilyn has also spent ten years as a stage actor and has played Martha in “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” and she has performed in “Comedies of Neil Simon” and the musical “Gerry’s Girls”.
Marilyn joined FM107.5 in February 2008 with her 3.00 pm Friday program of “Women and their Songs” and in 2009 changed to “Men and their Music”. This program features a biography interspersed with songs from artists like Frank Sinatra, Simon and Garfunkel, Bette Midler, Jesse Norman and Edith Piaf. Each program is a celebration of the male and female voices sharing the history and background of the performers and their journeys as an artist.

In her spare time, Marilyn enjoys golf, films, fitness and travelling.

 


MORRIS, Susan

"Tuesday’s in the Mix”

Susan Morris

Susan Morris has had a long career in both teaching and management prior to joining FM107.5.

Susan became a member of FM107.5 in October 2006 and started broadcasting a Thursday afternoon program of easy–listening music; she then moved on to “The Odd Magic Monday” on the odd Mondays of the month in December 2006. In January 2008, she started “Thursday’s in the Mix” which moved to “Tuesday’s in the Mix” in January 2009. Susan’s program is filled with a wide variety of music from the “forties to the noughties”, news, and regular segments including a “Birthday Spot” and “Spotlights”.

Susan was elected as a member of the Committee of Management at the AGM in September 2007 and held the position of Secretary for two terms; she is currently on the 2009-2010 Committee of Management.
Susan is involved in writing training materials for Orange Community Broadcasters and training new presenters.

 


PETERS, Paul

“An Evening with Paul Peters”

Paul Peters works at Harvey Norman’s Electrical Department in Orange and joined FM107.5 in January 2009. Paul started “An Evening with Paul Peters” on Thursdays between 7.00 pm and 8.00 pm. In mid-March 2009, Paul’s program changed to a two-hour slot from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm on Thursdays.

Tune into Paul’s show and enjoy jazz and contemporary music while you’re having dinner or drinks with friends. You’ll be listening to artists like George Benson, Nat King Cole and Michael Buble – real, easy-listening tracks.
Paul is a rugby fan – especially watching the Brumbies win! Fishing, reading and music are also on Paul’s spare-time list but, right at the top is spending time with Kim and Bradley.

Paul travels to Canberra as often as possible as he loves spending time with his Mum and Dad and his son, Phillip.

 


ROBERTS, Jed

“Haircuts and T-Shirts”

Jed joined FM107.5 in February 2008 and started his punk and hard core music program called “Haircuts and T-Shirts” on Wednesdays and then moved to Saturdays from 9.00 pm and 11.00 pm to suit his audience.

If your love of music includes punk and hard core like Carpathian, Gallows, Defiance Ohio and musicians like Tim Armstrong, Chuck Ragan and Brody Dalle, then make sure you tune in to Jed’s “Haircuts and T-Shirts”.
Jed includes interviews within his program with artists like Rex Banner and Meatlocker and you will be able to enter one of Jed’s competitions as well.

Jed was born in Devon, England and came to Australia in 2005. Jed spends his spare time recording music, promoting concerts and writing for “Fluorescent”, Orange.

 


SADLER, Dianne

"Do You Remember?"

Diane Sadler

Dianne Sadler joined FM107.5 in July 2009 with her "Do You Remember" program on Mondays between 10.00 am and 12 noon. The music you'll hear will have you humming and singing along with all those Jukebox and easy-listening favourites that you'll remember. You'll also meet some new talent like Helmet Lotti who sings the old tunes you'll love.

Dianne became a member of the Committee of Management at the AGM in September 2009 and is responsible for FM107.5's music library set up at the studio.

Di works part time and enjoys walking and listening to music but she says that spending time with her family is "the tops".

 


SAID, Nicole

“Nic’s Mix”

Abdul

Nicole joined FM107.5 in October 2009 with her weekly program “Nic’s Mix” on Wednesday between 6.00 pm and 7.00 pm. Nicole plays some of the hottest hits of today and some of the older hits from yesterday.
Tune in to “Nic’s Mix” and hear some of everyone’s favourite tracks from Short Stack, ACDC, Fall Out Boy, Bon Jovi, Pink and Kanye West.

Nicole currently works at Subway in Orange and is planning on going to University in 2010. She is hoping to enrol in media studies so FM107.5 is her “launching pad”.  Nicole also plays hockey and likes helping her Dad on the farm.

 


SALIH, Abdul

"The Arabic Show"

Abdul

Abdul Salih has been a member of FM107.5 since 2004 and he was a Mechanical Engineer prior to his retirement as an engineer on pipeline construction projects in Iraq.

Abdul runs an Arabic program each Sunday from 9.45 am to 11.00 am.
The Arabic Program is brimful of music and songs from different countries in the Arab world with news, information and music selections from Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and other Arab countries. Abdul’s program is mainly oriented towards English-speaking people and the object of his program is to introduce Arab music to the wider Australian public.

Abdul loves spending time with his two grand daughters, daughter and son-in-law who also live in Orange.

 


SAVAGE, Ron

“Drive Time” and “The Handyman Hour”

Ron Savage joined FM107.5 in late 2007 and, as well as spending 13 years as a Police Officer, he has a background as a retail proprietor and a real estate agency proprietor and was a Councillor on Orange City Council for six years.

Previously, Ron has spent some of his spare time restoring vintage cars and a motor cycle and has enjoyed travelling world wide over many years. He is married with children and grandchildren. Ron has lived in Orange for the past 42 years.

Ron broadcasts his “Drive Time” program on Thursday between 3.00 pm and 5.00 pm. Ron’s program is filled with a variety of music including 70s and 80s pop tunes, news items and current affairs comments. You can hear Ron again on Saturday mornings between 9.00 am and 10.00 am when he runs “The Handyman Hour” sponsored by Mitre 10.

 


SPICER, Doug

“Dusty Tracks with Dusty Doug”

Doug is an “old hand” at FM107.5 and has been a member of the station since June 2001. Doug was involved in the Wednesday and Thursday programs of “A Big Country Lunch” for many years and he was a favourite with country music listeners.

In late 2007, Doug changed his timeslot and now presents “Dusty Tracks with Dusty Doug” – a program of music for baby boomers! Doug broadcasts each Monday and Tuesday between 3.00 pm and 6.00 pm and his program is filled with great sing-a-long tracks from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Doug’s music variety caters for a wide section of our listener base with easy listening, pop, country, and rock tracks.

 


TURNER, Steve

Steve Turner

Steve Turner is our “irreplaceable” fill-in when another presenter is unavailable and you’ll usually hear him “in the mornings” when he’s “on air”. Steve includes lots of easy-listening and popular music selections in his program – you’ll be sure to be singing along for the whole show.
Steve is a great supporter of FM107.5 and he sponsors the station as well with his business Western Battery Co Pty Ltd.

Steve always conducts FM107.5’s political interviews with local candidates for local, state and federal elections – a great service for the local community.

Steve loves travelling and riding his Harley.

 


VANDERBY, Ray

“Orange Jazz Club Radio Show”

The Orange Jazz Club Radio Show is a weekly one hour jazz program presented by Ray Venderby and you'll hear it on Thursdays between 11.00am and 12.00noon. Ray plays local and international jazz classics and brings you the latest news and information on jazz events in Orange and around the Central West. With over 40 years experience as a professional musician/composer, Ray draws from a vast repertoire of songs to bring you a great variety of music.
